Chia seed pudding is very easy to make and there is no cooking involved. You just mix the ingredients and put in the refrigerator. It is that easy. There are three basic ingredients, chia seeds, milk, and vanilla and if want you can add a sweetener of choice.
The fun part are the variations listed below.
If you don't like the texture of the seeds you can put everything in a high speed blender and blend to a smooth consistency, which might be just a minute or less.
You can top it with roasted nuts, pistachio, candied pecans, fresh berries, sliced bananas, coconut flakes, mini chocolate chips, raisins, or chocolate shavings. You can add a dollop of cream. Drizzle with honey, maple syrup, or watered down jams.
what you need for the basic recipe:
Variations:
Chocolate: add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder to the basic recipe and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
Strawberry: puree about 6 strawberries and add to the basic recipe. Decorate with fresh strawberries.
Pecan Pie: add ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of almond extract to the basic recipe. Sprinkle with chopped candied pecans.
Matcha: add 1 teaspoon matcha powder to the basic recipe.
Chai: add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon cardamon, and a pinch of ground cloves to the basic recipe.
Orange: add 1/2 teaspoon orange zest to the basic recipe and top with orange marmalade
PB & J - add 1/8 cup peanut butter to the basic recipe and top with jam.
