If you like garlic and mushrooms this recipe is for you. It smells sooooo good when you are making it.

what you need:

  • 1 lb crimini mushrooms
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

what to do:

  1. Rinse the mushrooms, dry with paper towel and slice them.
  2. In a wide frying pan, heat butter and olive oil over medium high heat.
  3. Once it's hot, add the mushrooms in a single layer as much as possible and let them cook for 4 minutes without stirring.
  4. Turn/stir the mushrooms and cook for 4 more minutes.
  5. Add the garlic and let it cook until the garlic starts changing color. This can take from one to two minutes. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.
  6. Mix the sugar, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar and add to the mushrooms.
  7. Let it cook for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms are coated. Be careful not to let it dry too much.

After the last step add 1 teaspoon corn starch mixed in 4 tablespoons of heavy cream and mix in until it thickens to your liking.
