what you need:
- 1 lb crimini mushrooms
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
what to do:
- Rinse the mushrooms, dry with paper towel and slice them.
- In a wide frying pan, heat butter and olive oil over medium high heat.
- Once it's hot, add the mushrooms in a single layer as much as possible and let them cook for 4 minutes without stirring.
- Turn/stir the mushrooms and cook for 4 more minutes.
- Add the garlic and let it cook until the garlic starts changing color. This can take from one to two minutes. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.
- Mix the sugar, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar and add to the mushrooms.
- Let it cook for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms are coated. Be careful not to let it dry too much.
