Tea for Colds



If you are into home remedies for common colds and sore throat, this tea might be what you need.


what you need:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder (helps recovery time, soothes sore throat)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder (or 1/2 teaspoon fresh crushed fresh ginger) (soothes sore throat)
  • 2 cloves (helps eliminate phlegm)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (anti-inflamatory)
  • A pinch of black pepper (helps the body absorb 
  • 1/8 teaspoon coconut oil (helps the body absorb turmeric)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (usually one lemon) (vitamin C)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (raw honey if you have) (antibacterial properties)

what to do:
Add water, cinnamon powder, ginger and cloves to a small pot saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat, add the other ingredients, stir, cover and let it sit for 5 minutes. 
Strain and enjoy!
