Chocolate Coconut Smoothie

This is the perfect smoothie for some of us who have uncontrollable, undesirable, and unrelenting chocolate cravings. And the good news is that you can have the skinny version and be very satisfied!

If you want enhanced flavors use 1/2 cup whole milk and 1/2 cup coconut milk instead of 3/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup coconut milk.

If you have a favorite brand of chocolate drink than use it of course. If you don't have a favorite then start with unsweetened cocoa until you find a brand you like. Here are some that I know and like: Nesquick, Cadburry Drinking Chocolate, Trader Joe's Drinking Chocolate, Country Cream Dutch Chocolate Drink and I also like Ovaltine. The amount of powder you will use in the smoothie vary according to the brand. Just follow the recommended amount of powder for 1 cup of drink.

what you need:
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 small frozen banana
  • 1/3 cup coconut milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • chocolate drink powder (use brands recommended amount OR 2 teaspoons cocoa
  • sugar, honey OR Stevia sweetner
  • half cup ice cubes

Just put all the ingredients in a blender and blend them to your heart's content.

Enjoy and if you are feeling fancy garnish with toasted coconut. Just put coconut flakes in the oven at 350F for a few minutes. Keep watching so they do not burn.

  1. Looks delicious! I'll have to try it a few different ways, as you suggested. Thanks!
