Braised Endives is a comforting dish with a delicious and velvety texture.
what you need:
- 2 Belgian endives
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar or 1 tsp honey
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp lemon juice
What to do:
Cut endives lengthwise in half and place them (cut side down) in a deep skillet that has a top.
Add the other ingredients: water, salt, sugar, butter, lemon zest and lemon juice.
Cover the pan and let it cook for about 10 to 12 minutes until tender but not mushy.
Remove the top and reduce the juice to your liking.
Plate the endive and top it with the endive juice left in the pan.
