Simple, Delicious, Nutritious
Gan Gye Bab or Ganjang Gyeran Bap is popular in Korea and became even more popular because of BTS. There are many ways to prepare this dish and different variations of seasonings and accompaniments.
What you need:
- 1 cup of cooked rice
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 teaspoon pressed garlic
- 2 eggs
- 2 to 2.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Sesame Oil
- Dried Seaweed
- Chopped Green Onion
- Sesame Seeds
Note:
- You can modify the proportion of rice and eggs to your liking.
- Use quinoa instead of rice, which is not the Korean way.
- Add a little less than 1/2 cup of coconut cream to the rice.
- In the picture: Ganjang Gyeran Bap using quinoa instead of rice with added diced purple carrot.
What to do:
- Melt butter and cook the garlic until fragrant, right when starts to brown
- Add eggs and scrambled.
- Add soy sauce and mix until well absorbed.
- Add 1 cup of cooked rice, mix and keep stirring until nice and crisp.
- Add or top with sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
- Place on the side or mix, strips of dry seaweed.
