Homemade Soy Yogurt

Ingredients:

- 1 liter soy milk - plain, made with only soy and water

- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (to kickstart the fermentation)

- One packet of Yogourmet as a starter

You will need:

- a yogurt maker with 8 pots of 140 to 180ml.

- a cooking thermometer

Note: After the first batch you can use 120ml of the yogurt previously made

What To Do:

Important: These are the instructions for the Yogurmet that I bought on Amazon.

Place the milk in a saucepan and heat it to 82 C. Stir constantly so the soy does not get stuck to the bottom of the pan. Do not let it boil.

Let the milk cool to a temperature between about 42 / 44 C.

To speed up the cooling process place the pan in a bowl with ice and water and keep stirring until the mix is at 42 to 44C

Mix sugar and the probiotics powder until completely dissolved.

Divide the mix into 6 to 8 yogurt pots, depending of the amount you want in each pot.

Place the pots in the yogurt maker.

Add warm water to the level of the milk in the jars.

Turn on the yogurt maker to 42 degrees for 9 or more hours. I set for 12 hours.

After the 12 hours place the pots in the refrigerator for about 6 to 8 hours before eating.
